The Coalition to SAVE the Menominee River, Inc. announced its affiliation with the Michigan Environmental Council based in Lansing, Michigan.

MEC has been in business for 40 years and plays an important role in educating lawmakers on environmental issues.

Coalition President, Dale Burie, stated “We are excited to be a part of MEC.  We have also established connections a number of other environmental organization, both regional and national.  The Coalition to SAVE the Menominee River, Inc. stands in opposition to the Aquila Resources proposed Back Forty project of a metallic sulfide mine on the banks of the Menominee River, west of Stephenson, Michigan.  The Coalition has approximately 4,500 followers.  They are continually seeking support among those who share their passion to preserve clean water and the environment.
