Marinette County Sheriff’s Deputies will be better equipped to assist in medical emergencies thanks to donations collected by the community. Sheriff Jerry Sauve reports that after a County dispatch employee head some of the officers no longer had functioning AED units in their squad cars, they took it upon themselves to start up a collection to replace this critical equipment. In total, individuals and businesses offered up more than $6300 for the units. Sheriff Sauve says as rural rescue squads continue to struggle to fill their membership rosters, officers are more frequently being relied upon to serve as first responders in medical emergencies.
