09/25/2020- Marinette County continues to see a surge in coronavirus activity as confirmed cases locally rose to 816 Thursday, an increase of 33 cases in one day. A month ago there were just 598 positives in the county, though no additional COVID-19 deaths have been reported since September 1st. Meanwhile, Menominee County has recorded 313 cases of COVID-19 with one death. Although numbers are quickly climbing across the region, Governor Gretchen Whitmer has said she’s not announcing any additional restrictions for the U.P. at this time, but she continues to urge residents to wear masks, avoid gathering in large groups, and stay home as much as possible.
