Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve honored Deputy Dave Oginski with a life-saving award for his actions on February 9th. After working a 12 hour shift, Oginski was at home in Wausaukee when he heard the call for a possible heroin overdose.  Despite being off duty, Oginski realized he was the closest officer and responded, recognized the plight the subject was in, and administered two doses of Narcan which reverses the effects of the overdose, and saved the subject’s life.

The presentation was made at Tuesday’s Marinette County Board meeting.
