Its election day across Wisconsin.  Statewide, voters will decide between Deborah Kerr and Jill Underly for State Superintendent of Public Instruction.  In the 89th Assembly District,  voters will choose between Republican Elijah Behnke and Democrat Karl Jaeger to fill the seat formerly held by John Nygren who resigned in November to go into the private sector after winning reelection.

There are plenty of local races across the area.  In the City of Marinette, two term incumbent Mayor Steve Genisot is being challenged by Roberta Davis.  There is also one contested aldermanic race in the 5th ward where incumbent Wally Hitt is challenged by Liz Mikutowski. There are three seats on the Marinette School Board up for election.  In the Town of Peshtigo, Cindy Boyle and Dave Dionne are running for Town Chairman, Jim Kollross and Cindy Baur are running for Supervisor 1 while Leonard Wiedemeier is challenging Jon Drees for Supervisor two.  In the city of Peshtigo, aldermanic races, Mike Behnke and Keith Klimek face off in District 2, while Debbie Sievert is challenged by Zachary Lossett in District 3.  Peshtigo City voters are also voting on a referendum to raise property taxes.  Peshtigo Schoosl have two referendum questions on the ballot.    And there are many more Town and Village, and school board races throughout the county.   Polls are open until 8pm.
