08/28/2020- An area organization supporting veterans and their families has had to change up what’s typically their biggest fundraiser of the year. Freedom for Patriots is a non-profit that provides recreational activities and experiences to past and current service members from all across our region. The group traditionally hosts a banquet each fall to raise money to continue offering these trips at no cost to vets, but COVID-19 has forced them to transition this year’s fundraiser to a contactless raffle event. Freedom for Patriots Board Vice President Peach Blake says community support is more important now than ever to ensure the program sees its way through this COVID-19 pandemic.

Since being established in 2018, Freedom for Patriots has served well over 100 veterans and their families and Blake says the organization has made it their mission to express gratitude and appreciation to as many as possible.

Freedom for Patriots Fall Raffle tickets are $25 each and that drawing will be held on Saturday, October 24th. You can purchase tickets or get more information by stopping in at the Freedom for Patriots office at 505 1st Street in Menominee or by calling 906-352-4295.
