Multiple emergency agencies spent the weekend searching for a lost hunter in Menominee County. According to the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch was contacted for the missing hunter- a 55-year-old male from Illinois- late Friday night. The man left his campsite at the Cedar River Campground in Cedarville around 9:30 Friday evening and hasn’t been seen or heard from since. He’s described as white, 5’7” tall with gray and was believed to be wearing gray shorts, a camo shirt, and a black jacket. In addition to the Sheriff’s Office and their K-9 Unit, the Menominee County Marine Patrol, local fire departments, Bay Area Mounted Search and Rescue, and Michigan State Police Air, K-9, and Dive Teams are assisting in the effort. The search for the hunter is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office.
