08/11/2020- Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers has approved improvements to WIS 64 in Marinette and Oconto Counties which are slated to begin next week. To invest in Wisconsin’s transportation system, Governor Evers signed a $1.8 million contract to upgrade seven miles of WIS 64 from County S to US 141 through the towns of Pound, Beaver and Brazeau. This project includes milling and asphalt resurfacing, adding centerline rumble strips, and pavement marking. Railroad crossing rehabilitation will also take place at the crossing between County CP and US 141 and will necessitate a five-day closure of the roadway in that area starting Monday.
During the remainder of the project, WIS 64 will remain open to traffic with flagging operations and shoulder closures, and motorists should anticipate minor traffic delays. The 25-day working contract is expected to wrap up at the end of September.
