Confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Marinette County topped 2000 Wednesday as the county and the vast majority of Wisconsin continue to see very high activity levels of the virus. The case count locally as of yesterday afternoon was 2015 and Marinette County is averaging around 34 or more new cases daily. Public Health Officer Molly Bonjean says those individuals who test positive are still being asked to reach out to close contacts to advise them to quarantine and she’s reminding residents and employers that a negative COVID test does not mean you’re in the clear.

18 people in Marinette County have died from the coronavirus. Bellin Health and Marinette County have teamed up to provide testing to symptomatic individuals and those identified as close contacts at the Marinette County Highway Shop in Peshtigo daily, by appointment, while the Wisconsin National Guard will conduct testing at that same site November 6th and 20th and again on December 4th.
