08/11/2020- More than 400 people in Marinette County have now tested positive for COVID-19. The confirmed case count as of yesterday afternoon was at 411, a figure which has been rising sharply over the past few weeks both locally and across Wisconsin and prompting the state to enact a mask mandate, while some individual businesses, particularly restaurants, have chosen to suspend typical in-store operations or dining. There have been three deaths reported in Marinette County due to COVID-19, though a resident in his 70s at Rennes Health & Rehab Center’s west location is also have said to have died from the coronavirus recently, which has not yet been reflected in the data provided on the Wisconsin DHS website. Meanwhile, Menominee County, Michigan has seen 126 positive cases with no deaths reported. They have the second highest case count in the U.P. behind Marquette County.
