It’s a yes from voters on an almost- $31-milllion referendum to right size the Marinette School District. The proposal was approved 4071 in favor to 3153 against in yesterday’s election. The plan will consolidate the district’s current six buildings to four- closing Garfield and Sunrise Early Learning Center- while also funding additions to Park and Merryman schools and capital improvements at the existing middle and high schools.
There were no local contested races in Marinette County, but John Nygren beat out Karl Jaeger for the 89th Assembly District Seat with nearly 69% of the vote. Marinette County voters cast 15303 votes for Donald Trump in the Presidential election and 7363 for Joe Biden.
