Menominee County saw greater than 68% voter turnout in Tuesday’s election and County Clerk Marc Kleiman says processing those ballots went fairly smoothly, all things considered. Like municipalities across the nation, cities and townships in Menominee County had an influx of absentee and early voters and that, coupled with long lines of voters who showed up to cast their ballots on Election Day, meant the turnaround time for results at the end of the night was a bit longer than usual.

While some municipalities in Menominee County did encounter minor technical issues in feeding absentee ballots through the tabulators, Kleiman says that didn’t create any major disruptions in reporting. Menominee County’s Board of Canvassers still has to certify the results from Tuesday’s election, which is expected to take at least two days, if not longer, to complete.
