Parks were a recurring theme at Tuesday’s Menominee County Board meeting.  County Administrator Jason Carviou says the County Parks will be open for camping starting Friday.  The County is still looking for some seasonal park employees.

Carviou says the county will continue working on an on-line parks reservation system,  with the plan for it to be ready for use next year.

The board had a discussion on seasonal camping sites at Shakey Lakes.  Some of the campsites that are rented for the season by the same families each year sport improvements such as patios and flagpoles.  The board discussed whether permanent structures were appropriate for campsites.  While it was decided no changes could be implemented this year, the Parks Board and County Board will be discussing the issue over the coming months.
