08/05/2020- The results are in from Menominee County voters for yesterday’s Michigan Primary. In what was likely the biggest and one of the only contested county-wide races, it was Patrick Armbrust with about 54% of the vote edging out Joe Grinsteiner with 46% for the Republican candidate for Menominee County Sheriff. Armbrust will now face off against Democrat Mike Holmes for the Sheriff’s post in November. Daggett Township approved a Fire Department Millage Renewal 119 to 31 and a Road Maintenance Millage Renewal 118 to 31. Residents in Nadeau Township voted 189 to 66 to pass their Fire Department Millage Renewal, while a Fire and EMS Proposal was passed for Stephenson Township 82 to 30 and an Operating Millage for North Central Area Schools was approved by district voters 430 in favor to 128 against. In statewide races, Menominee County voters cast 61% of their ballots in support of 1st Congressional District Democratic Candidate Dana Ferguson and about 39% for Linda O’Dell. Ferguson secured 64.5% of the statewide vote to win that race over O’Dell and will take on incumbent Jack Bergman later this year. Keep in mind all local results are considered unofficial until certified by the Menominee County Board of Canvassers.
