More Menominee schools are amending their method of student instruction as cases of COVID-19 continue to climb locally. Superintendent John Mans informed district parents this week that Menominee Junior/High School students will move from in-person to remote learning beginning next Monday and will remain in that status until the Thanksgiving holiday, with the earliest students could return to in-person instruction begin Monday, November 30th. In addition, Central Elementary and Blesch Intermediate Schools will be remote November 23rd and 24th and all three MAPS buildings will be remote just prior to the winter holiday on December 21st and 22nd. Mans says the current virus containment infrastructure coupled with the community’s response to the pandemic are failing to slow the spread of the virus and the district is working closely with the local health department on their response protocol to keep both students and staff safe. The district will issue an update just prior to the Thanksgiving holiday confirming when the Middle and High School students will return to in-person status.
