Menominee students will get Friday afternoon off as school staff get their first COVID-19 vaccinations.

Superintendent John Mans says Public Health Delta Menominee has arranged for frontline educators in Menominee County to receive the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine without having to travel to Escanaba. He notes vaccinating the frontline educators is an important step in to remain in their in-person education delivery status given the potential issues with variant strains of the virus.

The half day off on Friday is necessary because the school does not have the staff to cover classrooms while teachers are getting their shots. Specific dismissal information is available on the District’s Website.
