A May 24th  motions hearing in Marinette County Circuit Court will determine if the defense can argue that another man was responsible for the cold-case double murder.  Eighty-four-year-old Raymand Vannieuwenhoven is scheduled to go on trial July 19th.  He’s accused of killing 25-year-old David Schuldes and 24-year-old Ellen Matheys in 1976.  D-N-A evidence linked him to the crime two years ago.  His attorney argues another man who was in McClintock Park the same day could be  responsible for killing Schuldes and Matheys.  At a Thursday hearing, prosecutors secured a delay to have a D-N-A expert review the evidence.
