05/14/2020- It’s National Police Week and the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office is commending those who continue to put themselves in harm’s way to maintain peace and security in our communities. Typical Law Enforcement Memorial Services are being canceled locally and nationwide in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, but Marinette County Sheriff Jerry Sauve is still calling on people to reflect upon the ultimate sacrifice some law enforcement officers have made with the loss of their lives in the line of duty. 135 officers were killed across the US in 2019, 2 of which were in Wisconsin.
