03/20/2019- Some creative thinking and a little elbow grease are making Marinette’s Northland Lutheran Retirement Community feel more like home. The company recently launched their first assisted living suite- a 500-square foot space featuring a living room, kitchen, and bedroom, that also offers the same care and assistance from Northland Lutheran staff the residents need. NLRC CEO Darrel Lancour says the suite was custom-designed and created by his own staff. He says it’s meant to change the way people think about assisted living facilities.
While this suite is the first of its kind at NLRC, Lancour hopes to establish more of the same in the coming years. He says it’s part of a larger movement to adapt to the changing clientele assisted living facilities are seeing, where residents are seeking the same amenities and independence they had in their own homes with the added security of having care providers nearby.
