09/12/2019- Menominee County’s Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is running ahead of schedule, and that’s good news for the hundreds, if not thousands of victims and defendants involved in cases caught in the county’s backlog. Prosecuting Attorney Jeffrey Rogg says the contracted attorney brought on board to help address the issue is already making some significant headway and Rogg expects all 500-plus cases in the backlog will be addressed by the end of the year. That’s well ahead of the initial three years some officials estimated it might take to sort through the files. Rogg also reports that while the County Board allocated up to $20000 for the contracted attorney position, thus far, he’s only used around $5000 of that.
