02/03/2020- You may or may not have seen the film crew crisscrossing the City of Marinette last summer, but you can see the end result of their effort to spotlight the City on a public television show later this month. Around the Corner is a Milwaukee PBS series hosted Emmy Award-Winning Actor John McGivern that explores living, working and playing in different Wisconsin communities. Last year, show producers contacted local officials about featuring Marinette in a 2020 episode. Jacque Boudreau, Executive Director of the Marinette Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce, got to play a direct role in advising the show’s producer and team on just what makes Marinette a unique destination.
Marinette Mayor Steve Genisot says being featured on the widely-recognized series is an opportunity not only for outsiders to learn what the City has to offer, but for residents to learn a little something about themselves, as well.
The community has the chance to get a first look at the Around the Corner episode showcasing Marinette February 18th. A premier showing will be held at the UW-Green Bay Marinette Campus with doors opening at 6:00. Tickets are free, but are recommended to be picked up in advance at the campus, Marinette City Hall, or the Chamber of Commerce.
