A program created to honor local service members is again accepting nominations. Peshtigo’s Director of Parks and Recreation, Dave Zahn, says his department will receive applications for their Hometown Hero banners project through March 31st. Zahn says the program continues to expand throughout the city.

The cost for a banner is 140-dollars and covers printing expenses and hanging the sign on a street pole in Downtown Peshtigo annually for five years. Zahn says the program will also accept donations to pay for banners honoring fallen service members who no longer have family living in the area.

Hometown Hero banners are on display from Memorial Day through the Fourth of July. Applications for the program are available in the Parks and Recreation office at the Peshtigo City Hall.
