09/11/2018- A former Marinette resident is in court on child sexual assault charges. 56-year-old Gary R Peterson made his initial appearance Monday. He is facing two counts of 1st Degree Child Sex Assault with a Person Under Age 13 and one count of Intimidating a Victim. Peterson allegedly had repeated inappropriate contact with a then-11-year-old girl between August of 2015 and May of 2016 and threatened to harm the girl and her family if she reported the incidents. Judge Jim Morrison has set his bail at $50000. Peterson is currently incarcerated at the Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution. He’s due back in Marinette County Court for an adjourned initial appearance September 24th.
