08/20/2020- The Marinette School District’s Board of Education got their first look at what a redesign of Park and Merryman schools could look like if an almost-$31-million referendum is approved this fall. The Board was presented this week with preliminary site plans for the two elementary schools, which would have Merryman housing Early Childhood through 1st grade students and 2nd through 4th grade at Park. Each would see similarly sized one-story additions and the layout of those facilities, including the main entrances, would be rearranged, to offer more safety and security to students and staff. Melanie Parma is with Somerville Architects and Engineers.

The site plans are subject to revision and dependent upon the passage of the requested $30.9-million referendum in November. Marinette Schools Superintendent Corry Lambie says teachers and staff will be brought into the renovation conversation soon after the start of the school year and it will then begin being introduced to district families.
