The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will soon complete its sampling project to identify private drinking water wells that may have been contaminated with  PFAS in the Expanded Site Investigation Area in the town of Peshtigo.

The DNR and its contractor, Wood Environment and Infrastructure Solutions (Wood), will sample private drinking water wells in the area through the end of June 2021.

The DNR-led sampling effort has been ongoing since the fall of 2020. To date, more than 400 private drinking water wells have been sampled.

Well owners in the Expanded Site Investigation Area who returned a Potable Well Survey and an Access Permission Agreement to either the DNR or Wood but who have not been contacted to schedule the well sampling should contact the DNR immediately. To schedule the sampling you can email the DNR at DNRJCIPFAS@wisconsin.gov or by phone at 1-888-626-3244. Those expecting a packet who did not receive one should also contact the DNR.
