03/06/2020- The Menominee man accused of driving high and causing an accident that killed another person in Lake Township last October waived his arraignment in Menominee County court this week. 20-year-old Kane Richard is facing felony counts of operating under the influence of drugs causing death and reckless driving causing death for allegedly failing to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of County Roads 356 and 577 and crashing into another vehicle, killing 29-year-old Derek Bryant of Vulcan. A blood sample showed Richard had both THC and Diazepam in his system at the time of the accident. He’s due back in court March 16th for a probable cause conference and also has a preliminary exam March 23rd. Both hearings will be before 95-A District Court Judge Robert Jamo.
