10/08/2018- Marinette County is among a list of municipalities across the state receiving quarterly aid payments from the Department of Transportation. The county was given more than $395-thousand in General Transportation Aid, while helps defray the cost of constructing, maintaining, and operating roads and streets under local jurisdiction. The City of Marinette also received over $182-thousand in General Transportation Aid, as well as nearly $17000 in Connecting Highway Aid for maintenance and traffic control of state highways within the city. In total, Wisconsin paid out more than $114-million to about 2000 local units of government for these quarterly transportation aid payments.
