12/10/2018- It’s that familiar sound of Christmastime. The local Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign is well underway and bell ringers can be found at locations throughout Marinette and Menominee Counties collecting donations to support the agency’s services and programs. They’re about a quarter of a way to this year’s $81000 goal and Captain Rhegan Stansbury says all of those funds will be used locally.
A critical part of a successful Red Kettle Campaign is having enough volunteer bell ringers throughout the season. Volunteers can serve for as little as two hours or as long as their schedule allows, and Captain Joshua Stansbury says for many people, it’s a family affair.
The Red Kettle Campaign runs through Christmas Eve. To learn more about volunteering or to sign up for a bell-ringing shift, visit registertoring.com.
