The Menominee Red Wave finds themselves in the loser’s bracket of the Michigan Legion Class A State tournament at Marquette, falling to Copper Country 1-0 in the Red Wave’s opening game.  It was the second walk-off win of the day for Copper Country as a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 7th by Levi Fromm was the difference.  Copper Country won their earlier game 2-1 over Chief Pontiac, again with a walk-off.  Menominee’s Ethan Russell pitch six plus innings and gave up only two hits, but was responsible for the run that scored after being relieved by Andrew Schroeder.

Menominee will play Blissfield at 8am Friday morning.  You can hear the game on Classic Hits 103.7.
