04/22/2019- There’s an investigation into the poisoning deaths of several dogs and other animals in Northern Wisconsin. Authorities say dogs in Marinette, Bayfield, and Florence Counties have died in as little as thirty minutes after ingesting poison they found on the ground. Coyotes, weasels, raccoons, and at least one wolf have also been killed from suspected poisoning. These deaths happened in rural areas on properties managed by the US Forest Service and Goodman Timber Company. The DNR has recovered a sample of the suspected poison located near a spot where a dog was found dead. Anyone with information is asked to contact the DNR by calling or texting 1-800-TIP-WDNR.
