Only a few days remain for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign and they still need the community’s help in reaching their $70000 goal this year. Captain Joshua Stansbury with the Marinette Salvation Army says to date, the effort has raised more than $21000 which will be used to support the programs and services they offer to families in need in Marinette and Menominee Counties. He says, like everything, this year’s campaign has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The pandemic took its toll on the economy and while locally we have started to recover, many are still struggling. Stansbury says they’ve seen a sharp increase in requests for assistance and they’re doing all they can to meet that higher level of need.
The Red Kettle Campaign runs through Christmas Eve. You can still sign up for a bell ringing shift at registertoring.com.
