07/30/2020- Road repair work will impact the speed of travel in northern Marinette County next week. Beginning Monday, County highway crews will be working on chip seal projects on County Trunk Highways O and OO. There will be a temporary 35 mph speed limit posted and travelers in the area should expect traffic delays. Motorists are reminded these are construction zones that will have fresh oil and loose gravel. In an effort to protect Marinette County highway department workers, motorists, and area residents, the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol can be expected to be out enforcing that 35 mph speed limit on O and OO. Highway Department officials say without these speed restrictions the economic longevity and immediate structural stability of the chip seal could be compromised. That project and the temporary reduced speed limit will last through August 10th.
