01/18/2019- Charges have officially been filed against the Pembine man accused of killing his wife last weekend. 55-year-old Gary Rogge was arrested January 13th after calling Marinette County Dispatch and informing them he’d shot his wife, 63-year-old Shelley Rogge earlier that evening. In the Criminal Complaint filed Thursday it states that Rogge told Dispatch and responding officers he and his wife had been drinking all day and were playing “shooting games” when Shelley Rogge was shot. He also admitted the two had been arguing earlier that day, but then later went back on that claim and said they were not arguing. The initial autopsy results reveal Shelley Rogge died from a single contact gunshot wound to the chest, meaning the muzzle of the gun was touching her at the time it was fired- a finding that was inconsistent with Rogge’s claim that he was demonstrating a “quick draw” when the gun went off. Rogge is now facing one count of First-Degree Intentional Homicide- a Class A Felony that could result in life in prison. He’s expected to make his initial appearance in Marinette County Court this afternoon.
