10/14/2020- The coronavirus pandemic has put a strain on many families’ financials and one local service organization will be better equipped to help out with a grant they received from the M&M Area Community Foundation. The local Salvation Army has received $3000 from the Homelessness Prevention Services Endowed Fund held at the Community Foundation. The Salvation Army applied that grant to support their Emergency Assistance Program, which helps with a portion of utilities and rent for individuals and families in danger of becoming homeless, entering new housing, or losing access to necessary utilities like heat and water. In the past year alone, The Salvation Army was able to assist 81 households living in Marinette and Menominee counties, most of whom were families with children or seniors.
