02/17/2020- Some locals are still dealing with the effects 2019’s extreme rainfall had on their small businesses and a federal loan program may now be able to offer some help in that recovery. The U.S. Small Business Administration has announced that Working Capital Disaster loans are being made available for small businesses, small agricultural co-ops, and some private nonprofits impacted by rain and excessive moisture from January through mid-August of last year. These working capital loans can be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable, and other bills that could have been paid had the disaster not occurred. Around half of Wisconsin’s counties, including Marinette, are included in the eligibility list for this aid. Loan applications can be found at sba.gov and are due by October 5th.
