04/04/2019- Four UP school districts will see new grant funding to increase safety and security. The 2019 Competitive School Safety Grant Program awarded the Bark River-Harris School District with $62000, Gladstone Area Schools with $109000, Escanaba Area Public Schools with about $110000, and more than $34000 to Tri-Township School. Over 130 public school districts, 66 non-public schools, 20 public charter schools and nine intermediate school districts statewide will receive $25-million in grants from the 2019 Competitive School Safety Grant Program. The money will be used to purchase technology and equipment that will improve safety and security of students, staff and school buildings.
