09/22/2020- A man from Menominee accused of murdering his girlfriend in 2015 has lost his sentencing appeal. Gregory Ihander was convicted in 2017 of second degree murder and was originally sentenced to 40 to 50 years in prison. That sentence was appealed in 2019 due to an error in a pre-sentencing reported and Ihander was ultimately resentenced to 31 to 50 years. Ihander appealed that sentence, as well, but it was upheld last week by the Michigan Court of Appeals. Ihander allegedly stabbed and killed Jolene Eichorn and left the woman’s body in the trunk of a car at the Cedar River Harbor parking lot in September of 2015.
