08/27/2019- Seven men are in custody in Menominee County as a result of a joint operation and investigation into human trafficking in the region. The individuals allegedly met with an undercover detective, who posed as a prostitute to pay for services last week and are each now facing charges of Prostitution/ Engaging in Services and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime. The investigation was a collaborative effort between the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team, the Hannahville Tribal Police, and the Michigan State Police, among other agencies, aimed at reducing sex trafficking and gathering information about alleged activity. The names of those arrested are being withheld at the time pending their arraignment.
