07/08/2020- Following months of discussion and debate on just how to move forward with the development and promotion of tourism and economic opportunities in Marinette County, a pair of new employees are officially in place and ready to take on the work. Jennifer Short was introduced this week as Marinette County’s Development/Tourism Director. She comes to the position with 18 years of experience in the utility industry serving in community and media relations. Short is a Menominee County native and says she’s looking forward to taking on this new role. While there are many aspects of local tourism and economic development that need to be addressed, Short says step one is to assess what’s already in existence and bring that up to date.
Rounding out the new economic development/tourism division within Marinette County’s Administration Department is Autumn Rockhill, who serves as the program assistant there. The creation of these internal roles was approved by the county board earlier this year after Supervisors determined they wanted the work to be carried out in-house versus contracting with an outside agency.
