02/21/2019- Some people may be sick of the snow, but local snowmobile clubs say, “keep it coming.” Parts of Marinette County have more than three feet of snow on the ground and it’s making for great riding conditions this winter. Pat Mullarky is the President of the Dun-Good Riders Snowmobile/ATV Club in the Northwestern part of the county. He says after several years of poor riding, the trails are busy with resident snowmobilers and those who are willing to travel hours just to hit the snow.
These trail conditions are good news for the local economy, as well. Alan Walesh is the owner of Jungle Jim’s Bar and Restaurant and the President of the Iron Snowshoe Club west of Crivitz. He says he’s seen he’s seen crowds at his business this winter that rival summer weekends.
Marinette County has a total of eight clubs that groom and maintain 500 miles of funded snowmobile trail. A list of updated conditions for each of these clubs is maintained online at marinettecosnowtrails.com.
