The incumbent in the race for Wisconsin’s 89th Assembly District says he’s seeking another term in the seat to see that the Badger State gets back on the right track following the coronavirus pandemic. Republican John Nygren of Marinette has served as a State Representative since 2006 and since 2013 has also been co-chair of the state’s Joint Finance Committee. He says while most major manufacturers in the region are holding their own at this point, the same cannot be said for many small businesses and post- COVID economic recovery will need to address that.
PFAS contamination continues to be a major concern of residents in the 89th District and Nygren says dealing with that from a state level and tightening the belt on the state’s budget to avoid placing additional financial burdens on taxpayers are some of his top priorities for the legislature next session if he’s elected to another term.
Nygren is being challenged by Democrat Karl Jaeger in that race for the 89th Assembly District seat.
