A Summer Reading Initiative at Saint John Paul II Catholic Academy in Menominee will be supported by a pair of grants. The school received $675 from the Youth Advisory Committee Fund at the M&M Area Community Foundation and $500 from the Shopko Hometown Foundation. The money will be used to provide summer reading kits to students in kindergarten through 8th grade. Those kits include a reading log and several books to encourage kids to keep reading throughout the summer months. The kits will be distributed to students during the last week of school.
