Kane Alexander Richard, 22, was sentenced last week, Friday, in the 41st Circuit Court by the Honorable Chris Ninomiya to a term of incarceration in the Michigan Department of Corrections for a period of five to 15 years. He was convicted of reckless driving causing death which is a felony punishable up to fifteen years. Menominee Prosecuting Attorney Jeffrey Rogg says, “Unfortunately, the criminal justice system cannot bring back the life of a person who has been killed like this and can only deliver imperfect justice.”

Richard could be released as early as five-years. However, he will have to convince a parole board at that time he is deserving of release.
