Grant money will help keep some Stephenson Area Public Schools students safer in the water. A Safety Around Water grant was awarded to the district, who was able access resources received from the Michigan Health Endowment Fund by partnering with the M&M Area Community Foundation. With the grant, Stephenson fourth graders will receive free lessons at Greater Marinette-Menominee YMCA focusing on safety in and around the water, including life jacket use and water rescue techniques.
