The M&M Area Community Foundation is well known for their efforts and initiatives to identify and meet areas of need throughout Marinette and Menominee Counties, but now some of their younger members are taking the lead. The Youth Advisory Committee of the MMACF is comprised of students from 8 of 15 local middle and high school districts and theyāre launching their own independent community projects benefiting groups from elementary students in need to area animal shelters. MMACF Executive Director Paula Gruszynski says itās the first time YAC members have organized their own projects and itās having an impact both on these students and those theyāre serving.
YAC is the oldest of the Community Foundationās committees and is open to those between 12 and 21 years of age. Grusyzski says itās this early experience that plants the seed of philanthropy in these members for a lifetime.
