It was a unanimous decision made by the City of Menominee’s Judicial and Legislative—Personnel and License Committee last evening to recommend to council the appointment of Police Chief Brett Botbyl to the position of City Manager. Mayor Jean Stegeman says, “I am confident that Brett will do a wonderful job.”
Stegeman says, “there will be a transition period between roles, but ultimately he will be the city manager.”
If approved Chief Botbyl, he will take over as City Manager effective immediately. As for the Police Chief position, it will now be up to Botbyl to find potential candidates and bring one to council for their approval. The City of Menominee’s next council meeting is Monday, March 21st at 6pm.
