At yesterday’s Marinette County 980 Committee meeting the committee met in closed session to determine if they could resolve the placement issue of the 980 offender in Marinette County. However, upon entering open session County Administrator, John Lefebvre, says, “the motion was to have corporate council submit our report to circuit court and to the department of health and human services.”

Lefebvre says, “DHS also has to supply a report to the court as well.”

The Cooperation Council previously said that the court could sanction the courts 500 per day for not providing a facility for the offender as ordered by the courts. The courts deadline for the complying with the court order is June 10th.
