Crews will break ground on a new memory care and assisted living facility in Marinette next month. The city’s Planning Commission approved a site plan Wednesday for The Cottages at Lake Park, to be located at Lake Park Drive and Cleveland Avenue. Co-owner Wade Micoley says the project’s first phase involves constructing the 28-unit memory care facility, salon, kitchen, and public meeting space, while the 32-unit assisted living portion of the project will be added on in phase two. There are two existing Cottages properties in Shawano and Oconto Falls and Micoley says they’ve already begun accepting applications for residents at the Marinette location.
The memory care wing of The Cottages at Lake Park will offer multi-sensory stimulation features for residents and paved, lighted walking paths will provide them with a safe opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. Micoley anticipates phase one will be complete in late 2018 and phase two will begin sometime in 2019.
