The first weekend of Michigan Firearm Deer season is in the books. Since the start of the season on November 15th, the Department of natural Resources said hunters have already harvested over 60-thousand deer. According to the DNR’s website…Sanilac County leads the state with more than 2-Thousand deer harvested including more than 15-hundred bucks. Menominee County Hunters have reported taking 1373 bucks and 332 does for a total of 1705 deer. With the 7Deer population over 2-Million in the state…officials were hoping hunters would take more antlerless deer this season. But just over 16-thousand have been harvested.
