The YMCA has committed to distributing food on four occasions this year through Feeding America beginning tomorrow, Thursday, April 21st. Terri Florek, Youth and Family, Aquatics and Y-Kids Camp Director says, “John Hofer, with the Provident Health Foundation, his heart is with Feeding America. He shared with us that the Salvation Army is currently hosting trucks every other month. He realized we were all on the same page and asked can you do this?”
Florek says, “the Feeding America truck is going to park in the YMCA parking lot in the last stall on West Drive, closest to the road and we’ll use that tree lawn between the parking lot and West Drive to hand out the food.”
The Feeding America truck will be at the Greater Marinette—Menominee YMCA, tomorrow April 21st from 9am until noon. This effort is made possible with financial support from the Provident Health Foundation. The YMCA asks that recipients not block driveways remain close to the curb to not impede traffic flow. Signs will be in place to serve as reminders regarding the route. To join the effort, consider volunteering! For more information, contact the YMCA at 906-863-9983.
